RUSTIC no more.

This home has the perfect use of dark and light elements, collected eclectic design, and simple modern touches, but what I think sets this design off and gives it depth is the organic elements that provide warmth and texture.

Which brings me to my point, I've changed the term "rustic" to "organic" because TOO MANY PEOPLE associate "rustic" with a white pine hunting cabin in Wyoming with a huge elk head over a cobblestone fireplace.  No mas!  From here on out, my rustic = ORGANIC!

Interstate Food and Liquor

Someone e-mailed me about the bar-top I did for Interstate Food & Liquor down here on the Lower East Side in Manhattan.  Apparently they were angry because there are some folks that are flashing this photo all over Pinterest without rights to the photo or giving credit to it's originator...  I SAY, SHARE AWAY, life is short and I'm flattered, credit or no credit!

Mid-century mishap

Pulled this mid-century lamp photo the other day and I CAN'T REMEMBER WHERE I GOT IT FROM!  HELP!  I have searched everywhere to find it so I can buy it for a client, so as a last resort I'm posting it on my blog to see if anyone else knows or has seen it!?!?  I know, there are a MILLION other mid-century options out there, but you know when you get "stuck on something" and won't quit until you find it?   Well, I am stuck and I've realized I can't do it alone... please, pretty please, help!  haha

White

Maybe a bit too much symmetry for me, but great use of modern, industrial, rustic and organic elements together in this space.
